Beautiful and Meaningful Decorations Honoring Loved Ones
Floral, patriotic and decorative tributes are blended together with our landscape and features to make the cemetery a beautiful expression of faith, love and devotion to our families. The following guidelines for placing flowers and decorations maintain the beauty and continuity throughout the cemetery during the different seasons and provide greater efficiency in caring for the grounds.
Ø Flower Vases that can be receded into the ground during the winter are allowed. The cemetery prefers the vases be located on markers or to the side of the markers versus in front of them. Please put the vases in the ground by January 1st to protect it from winter damage.
Ø Flower Boxes are allowed on graves throughout the year. The box cannot exceed 36” in length and 8” in width. Only one flower box is allowed on each grave (or a combination not exceeding the dimension limits). Boxes that are broken may be removed by cemetery staff and discarded.
Ø Other non-breakable decorations may be placed securely on the headstone as long as it does not interfere with the mowing and trimming of the grass. Decorations that blow off in the wind may be picked up and discarded.
Ø Decorations that have deteriorated and become unsightly will be removed and discarded.
Ø Please check with the office if you have any questions regarding decoration guidelines.
Ø Winter decorations may be placed on gravesites after November 1st. The Cemetery is lenient in the types of decorations allowed in the winter. Please be aware that funerals are conducted throughout the year and decorations may need to be removed to allow for a service.
Ø Winter decorations that do not conform to the general guidelines listed above must be removed before April 1st. Cemetery staff will pick up and dispose of non-regulation decorations prior to the mowing season.
MEMORIAL DAY GUIDELINES
Ø Memorial Day is a special time to remember loved ones with beautiful decorations. During this time the Cemetery allows decorations that do not conform to the general guidelines. These decorations may be placed on graves ten days prior to Memorial Day.
Ø Please be considerate of other families and grounds keeping staff in choosing and placing of these decorations. We will continue to groom the grounds up to the Memorial Day weekend, so the Cemetery is in immaculate condition for the holiday visitors.
Ø Memorial Day decorations that do not conform to the general guidelines listed above must be removed before June 10th. Cemetery staff will pick up and dispose of non-regulation decorations after June 10th to allow for more efficient care of the grounds.
Reminder notices for removing decorations are announced in the Globe Gazette & on KGLO & KRIB.
