Ever wonder what it was like to be a fireman in 1933! Fire Chiefs have been submitting annual reports to the City Council since 1909. Back before color copiers, laser printers and graphic programs, all of the annual and yearly report covers were designed by the Department's personnel. The covers on the reports ranged from simple stenciled letters to colorful and artistic rendering--depending on which fireman did that particular cover. The fireman also colored in all of the bar graphs in the report.
Unfortunately, the Fire Department was not immune from the troubles of the 2008 Flood and lost some of its historical data which was located in the basement. However, annual and yearly reports dating back to 1933 have been scanned for review by the public. This is a continuing process and as reports are scanned, they are added to the list.
