Community Policing Advisory Board
The Community Policing Advisory Board (CPAB) was formed in 1997 and consists of nine volunteer members. The CPAB is a non-profit organization who works closely with the Mason City Police Department to address public concerns, organize and raise funds for local crime and drug prevention, public safety awareness, educational programs and activities in the community. The Community Policing Advisory Board encourages participation in the Neighborhood Watch Program as well as Block Parties. The Board has been instrumental in starting the National Night Out event in 1998 and is the primary organizer and fundraiser. National Night Out is co-sponsored with the Police Department in August of every year.
