Public Records Request

The City of Mason City acknowledges the right of the public to access public records maintained by the City per Iowa Code Chapter 22. The City is committed to a transparent, open government and will make every attempt to respond to requests in a timely manner.

Certain records are not for public disclosure and may be exempt from being released.

There may be a cost for personnel time and resources to perform research for the inspection/copying of the information and material to produce the requested records. Records will not be released without payment, if applicable.

When submitting a request, please be as specific as possible and include names, dates, document type (City Resolution or Ordinance number), topic, project name, etc.
