Gooch Park, located at 15th Street NE and North Pennsylvania Avenue, was established in 1985 as part of neighborhood blight elimination in conjunction with a housing rehabilitation program. In 1988, it was dedicated to honor Laurence E. Gooch who is responsible for many flower gardens and tree planting projects, and in recognition of his many contributions to Mason City. The park includes a shelter and playground area and is a great place for rest and relaxation.
