Winnebago River Watershed Mgmt Coalition  

The City of Mason City is the fiduciary for the Winnebago Watershed Management Coalition, a 28E joint governmental organization set up under Iowa law in 2024 to support watershed cooperation, planning, and improvements within the Winnebago River HUC8 Watershed in North Iowa. 

Mission: The Winnebago River Watershed Management Coalition’s objective is to assess and reduce flooding risks; repair, improve, and enhance the quality, appearance and recreational use of the Winnebago River Watershed by encouraging municipal, public and private support and participation through education, conservation practices, and volunteering.

All other eligible governmental entities in the region and non-governmental partners are welcomed to join the Coalition's efforts.
