Forestry Division General Information

GENERAL INFORMATION

Mason City’s Forestry Division of the Street Division oversees the planting, care and maintenance and removal of trees growing on public rights-of-way and all City-owned trees in the public properties in the City.

Staff maintains trees by trimming and pruning trees, responding to storm damaged City trees, and removing dead, diseased, and hazardous trees.

Trees on private property are the responsibility of the property owner including trimming/pruning and removal if necessary.

Free wood mulch and fire wood are available for residents at the Street Department for delivery or pick up. The fire wood is in 8' lengths. If interested, contact the Street Division Supervisor at 421-3675.
