This Planning & Zoning Commission studies the municipality in order to project plans for orderly development and maximize the community's potential for desirable growth and enjoyment by its people. It also recommends zoning classifications for land use that support initial planning and makes recommendations to the City Council in all matters involving uses, establishment, or change of zone categories.

Planning and Zoning Commission meetings are held in person in Conference Room A on the 2nd floor of City Hall, 10 First St. NW, Mason City, Iowa.

The public is invited to provide input on Planning and Zoning items only prior to the meeting.
Ways to provide comments include:
1) Phone in your comments prior to 9:00 a.m. the day of the Planning & Zoning Commission Meeting at 641-421-3626.
2) Fill out the form found on the City Website (www.masoncity.net) with your comments, referencing the agenda item number and submit prior to 9:00 a.m. the day of the Planning & Zoning Commission Meeting.
3) Send written comments to: Development Services, 10 1st Street NW, Mason City IA, 50401. Mailed comments must arrive the day prior to the meeting to be considered.
4) In person during the public hearing in Conference Room A at City Hall.
